Who: Anyone is welcome to join us in our mission to support Rock of Ages School by traveling to Uganda and working "on the ground". While we are a Christian organization you do not need to be affiliated with any church or other religious body. We are excited to have all ages participate in a mission trip, if you are under the age of 15 we ask that a parent/guardian will accompany you. If you are over the age of 15 but still under 18 we will need consent from a parent/guardian.

Where: We will be working primarily at Rock of Ages which is located in Mbiko Uganda.

Uganda is a small country, comparable in size to the state of Oregon. As of 2017 the population of Uganda is just over 41.5 million people with 49.9% of the population under the age of 15. Uganda is located directly on the equator and boasts a variety of landscapes depending on the region.

Mbiko, is situated near the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the second largest body of freshwater in the world. Lake Victoria is also considered to be the starting point of the Nile River which flows north all the way to Egypt, emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. A main highway that spans from Kenya, through Uganda, to Rwanda and Tanzania drives through the heart of Mbiko before reaching the second largest city in Uganda. Therefore, Mbiko is a common and convenient stop for truckers, looking to spend the night before continuing their journey. This demographic has led to increased prostitution within Mbiko, resulting in the widespread disease of STI's including HIV/AIDS, and many children born as a result of the trade.
